Sewed Up

I’ve never done a grayscale look before, so I wanted to give it a try! I like the half look for this so you can see the differences. I wasn’t too sure what I wanted for the other half as I was finishing up the Gray, but obviously I had to turn to SFX! My Fave!

I began with painting half of my face gray. I did not want full coverage at first, but by the end when I was taking photos I decided next time I want a more full coverage base. When the base was dry, I contoured with a mixture of black and dark gray eyeshadows. Cheek bone, Forehead, Neck and Collar bone. Again, Usually at the end when I am taking photos I can see better what I would change and do differently and a darker contour is one of them.

Once the contour was finished I did my eye. I decided to paint the base shape so the black would be very black and wouldn’t budge. I also painted my cut crease white so it came out brighter, then covered it all with a glitter white and glitter black eyeshadow. Painted on my eyebrow and then moved on to the other side.

For the horror side I began with my eye. I decided to go with a glamorous bruised look, ummmm is a glam bruise even a thing? LOL! I used a dark purple for my lid and then blended it out with a shimmer red. Added a wing for drama.

For the cut on my chest I used scar wax. I am getting a little better at that! If you follow my blog, you know I hate working with it! But it is getting easier, I actually need to order more. I’ll probably get a larger tub this time. Anyways, I used spirit gum as a base to hold down the wax and I actually liked that better than using liquid latex. I painted the inside bright red and the outside dark purple and then stippled the rest with a dark red paint.

Usually I would add stage blood to something like this, but I liked the look it had. So I added the blood to my eyes instead! I am liking blood tears lately, I dont know why haha.

For my lip I used a bright red lip liner and tapped it out with my finger to mute it a little bit and then topped it with a clear gloss.

Finishing touches were lashes, a contact, and some more blood! I also wore my maroon wig. I added my black extensions to the grayscale side because the red didn’t look right!
